Wizards Care

What a great game last night!  Despite the outcome we provided top notch NBA entertainment and I am proud of the way we played.  The crowd was great and I hope YOU bring the same energy for our home game on Sunday vs. Phoenix.

As many of you may know, Mr. and Mrs. Pollin have invested their time and energy in helping the DC community.  One of their many projects is to combat hunger in the DC Metro area.  To help the Pollins address this issue Wizards Care has once again teamed up with the Capital Area Food Bank with a goal of providing one million meals to those in need.  There are two ways that you can help:

1) Text the keyword “wizards” to 50555 to make a $5 donation to the Capital Area Food Bank.  It’s really simple and the $5 charge will show on your phone bill.

2) When attending any Wizards home game during November please bring a non-perishable canned food item.  You will receive a voucher for a future Wizards game, but more importantly you will be helping those in need.

There are several other great programs that both Wizards Care and the Capital Area Food Bank offer.  To visit their websites please click on the links below:

Welcome To My Blog

October 29th, 2009 No comments

Hi everyone and welcome to my new blog.  I hope by following my blog you will learn a little bit about me and the Washington Wizards.  I will be sharing insights about the team and how we operate.  I’ll chat about DC, some of my favorite restaurants and a few hidden gems.

I started this blog so that I can interact with you “the fans,” answer your questions and hear about what’s on your mind.  So, please comment, chat and ask questions.

I’ll leave you with this note….I am beyond excited to get the 2009-2010 season underway and very proud of how the team opened up on the road in Dallas.  I know we play in Atlanta tomorrow, but I am even more excited to kick off the home opener this Saturday night on Halloween when we take on the New Jersey Nets. There is no better feeling than OUR fans in OUR building!  I would be lying if I said that the expectations weren’t high, but I am confident in our team and happy to say that we have an excellent product that you will be proud of both on and off the court!

Happy Halloween and I hope to see you in costume Saturday night. Go Wizards!
